In
collaboration with Federation Chamber of Commerce & Industry and
UNCTAD (Bangkok Regional Centre), series of seminars and
conferences were organized in Pakistan to project modern concept
of Freight Forwarding and at a later stage multi modal transport. These events were arranged in various major cities of every province of Pakistan with large participation of representative of various ministries, Central Bank, Commercial Bank, Maritime Agencies, customs, Port and Airport Authorities. |

Mounted a sustained campaign in Press to fight against orders
issued by a government department to ban consolidation in
Pakistan and successfully reversed the orders. |

Formed Freight Forwarders Council under the aegis of
Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry. |

Formed International Courier Council under the aegis of
Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry and fought
successfully against takeover of courier industry as a regulator
by Postal Authorities even a bill which went through half way
through to legalize postal takeover was recalled by the
government in the face of successfully campaign mounted by
Courier Council under the the leader ship of SAL’s Directors. |

ICG – Immediate Clearance Group initially at Karachi Air
Port later on at Lahore was established as a result of efforts
of SAL Directors and by securing then Prime Minister’s support.
This has facilitated cargo clearance, previously even perishable
and diplomatic cargo was taking couple of days, now the
clearance is effected within 2-4 hours of flight arrival. |

Persuaded Central Board of Revenue and Central Bank Of Pakistan
reduce the G-D Good Declaration and Bill Of Entry formats which
was very cumbersome and time consuming. |

Directors united Central Bank of Pakistan, Board of investment
and Custom Authorization in one committee which appointed SAL
Director’s as a advisors.
This Committee was involved in removing bottle necks and
beaurocratic wrangling. |
